Proclaimation of Mak Yong Theatre as Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO IN 2005
On behalf of the Malaysian Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage, Dr. Ghulam-Sarwar Yousof was responsible for the preparation to nominate Mak Yong, the ancient traditional Malay dance theatre form for consideration as an item of The Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity. Mak Yong received the recognition in 2005.
